MISHMASH

Those ubercool folks at Getty have been running a Music/Video/Remix competition, aptly named mishmash.

Getty called for creatives to take their - getty’s – high res video, stills and music and turn them into something new. Tell a new story, put another spin on it, in a short video of between one and three minutes. The creatives who took part got access to great video from Universal Studios and Warner Brothers Film, as well as quirkier videos from Barcroft Media and our own best collections: one80, iStockFootage and Archive Films. There were no rules about the kind of mishmash creatives could make: a short story, video art or a music video. Read the rest of this entry »

Getty Images: 2011 Year In Focus

There is little more defining than an image, apparently a picture is worth a thousand words, and no other entity defines an image as well as Getty. The behemoth that is Getty Images has a pictorial roundup of 2011 that is worth more than just a peak.  The Getty team of award-winning photographers have covered over 8,000 news events, 19,000 sports events and 51,000 entertainment events.
